Zach grew up in the rainy capital of Seattle, WA. His foray into filmmaking was cutting sponsor-me tapes with two VHS decks. Zach spent most of his childhood pushing a skateboard, and the majority of his young adult life looking through a viewfinder.

He believes films are made in prep, and executed on set. His approach to the image is unique to each project, but it always starts with finding a visual alignment with his director. Zach understands the value of authenticity, and that it's his job to visually immerse the audience's imagination to gain their attention and trust. He thrives on the process of creative problem solving, and loves to offer his directors and producers with multiple options.

Over the past 15 years, he has split his time between Montana, Los Angeles, and Portland (OR).
